Dr John Gannon Joins the Board of GLOBAL Integrated Security

Former senior US intelligence official, Dr. John Gannon, has joined the Board of GLOBAL Integrated Security (GIS), the specialist US national security services arm of Global Strategies Group.

Dr. Gannon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, having served the US federal government at the highest level during a public service career spanning more than thirty years. In that time, he has held a number of senior positions across the US intelligence community.

His distinguished career includes a term serving as Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, where he advised the President's national security team on functional and global issues. Dr. Gannon was the CIA's Deputy Director for intelligence from 1995 to 1997, overseeing all of the agency's analysts, and responsible for preparing the President's Daily Brief. He inaugurated the first Strategic Plan for the Directorate of Intelligence and its first major reorganization since 1981. A former Naval Officer and Vietnam veteran, Dr. Gannon was awarded the National Security Medal, the highest Intelligence award of the United States, by President George W. Bush.

Following his time with the CIA, Dr. Gannon was appointed to head the White House team in the Department of Homeland Security Transition Planning Office, overseeing the creation of the DHS Information Analysis and Infrastructure Protection Directorate. Subsequently, he was Staff Director for the House Select Committee on Homeland Security. 

After leaving government service in 2005, Dr. Gannon joined BAE Systems where he launched a successful analytic business and became the first President of the company's Intelligence and Security Sector.
