LONDON, September 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Tamar will host their most exciting event to date for Social Media Week London 2012 on September 26th. An exclusive expert panel will debate and attempt to answer the question: 'Did London 2012 Win Social Olympics Gold?' The event is being held at one of London's most sought-after venues - Skyloft London - at the top of the Millbank Tower on Millbank.
Tamar's expertise in social media and its strength in developing digital strategies for sports brands (Wiggle and Halfords to name two) make it the ideal host to explore the impact of social media and the role it has played in London 2012.
The panel will feature two of Team GB's Olympic gold medallist rowers, Pete Reed and Anna Watkins, who will be joined on the panel by Team GB's Online Editor and Digital Marketing Manager Joe Morgan, Sky Sports Olympics producer Lia Hervey and Tamar's CEO Tanya Goodin. The event will be moderated by ITN's Ronke Phillips.
Not only will guests be able to meet and celebrate some genuine Team GB champions, Tamar is confident that guests will receive first-class insight into other hot-topic questions such as: which athletes struck Gold with their use of Twitter? Which news organisations really embraced social media? What were the iconic social media moments? What was the "peak tweet" moment and how integrated was social media with TV Games coverage?
"At Tamar we've long been supporters of Social Media Week, and with our work for Team GB during the London 2012 Games, it made sense for us to host a post-Olympics review," said Tanya Goodin, CEO of Tamar. "We're extremely fortunate to be able to involve Olympic gold medallists to give their unique perspective on how they used social media both before and during the Games to connect with their supporters, and of course our friends at Team GB and Sky will be able to fill-out the bigger picture for all the attendees. We're delighted to have such an impressive panel involved."
