Delegation of LIDE Executives Received by Former Prime Minister of Israel
SAO PAULO, Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The group of Brazilian executives participating in the Accenture Innovation Trip, an initiative of LIDE – Grupo de Líderes Empresariais [Group of Business Leaders], was received on Tuesday by former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, now chairman of the ALL Group. "The country itself (Israel) is a startup," the executive told the Brazilian delegation.
Olmert was Prime Minister of the State of Israel from 2006 to 2009, assuming the position after Prime Minister-elect Ariel Sharon was incapacitated by a stroke. Olmert was responsible for the removal of the Jewish settlements in the Gaza strip, and was leader during the war against Lebanon in 2006; he was also Minister of Finance, Minister of Industry, of Commerce and of Labor, in addition to being minister in charge of administration in the Israel territories. Prior to that, he was the Mayor of Jerusalem.
Today the Brazilian delegation visited the ALL Group (Avraham Livnat Ltd.), Israel's largest private conglomerate, composed of 32 companies, among them the Taavura Group, the country's largest logistics and infrastructure company, Ahava Cosmetics (known for its products made with ingredients from the Dead Sea) and call centers (non-profit entities located in the country's poorer regions).
A family enterprise, ALL is still managed under the experienced eye of its founder, Avraham Livnat, who at 90, still runs things with keen lucidity and a firm hand. Livnat is admired by his children and by the Chairman. His admirable life story includes escape from a concentration camp in 1944, and immigration to Palestine, where he built his empire.
