LONDON, August 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
House prices have remained flat in the UK, so sellers need to show off their homes in the best possible light if they want to find a willing buyer. CSL, the sofa specialists, know that a clean, spacious living room helps to make a great first impression on potential buyers.
Make a room bigger
Choose your furniture wisely if you want to create a sense of space. A good corner sofa can make the most of a small room without appearing too bulky or cluttered. Corner sofas from CSL can be recessed into corners to increase the available amount of floor area, giving you a clean, spacious feel that potential buyers will relish.
Define an open plan room
Corner sofas also make great room dividers if placed away from the wall. This way, you can separate off two areas of a room that are used for different activities, such as an open plan kitchen and dining room - a great way to show off the flexibility of your space and help house-hunters visualise their lives in their new home.
Choosing your corner sofa
It is vital to think about the shape of the room in question and get correct measurements before choosing your sofa. All CSL corner sofas are available in both right hand and left hand facing designs, meaning all that is needed from the customer is a decision about what works best. Many of the corner groups are also available as standard sofas or recliners and CSL offer a range of different fabric and leather styles. If you're trying to sell your house, opt for a neutral colour scheme that won't overwhelm the potential buyer.
Corner sofas - couched in history
- American furniture designer Harvey Probber is credited with inventing the corner sofa back in 1944
- By the 1970s, corner sofas were all the rage - seen as fitting better into new designs for living spaces than a traditional three-piece suite
- Corner sofas were put in the spotlight in Britain after television programme Big Brother used them in the game show house
