Columbus Offers Airport Lounge Access for Major Delay
LONDON, August 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Columbus Direct is pleased to announce free airport lounge access as part of its travel insurance policies to help customers that are affected by an announced airline delay of two hours or more.
Columbus is the only insurer to offer such an enhancement as a standard part of its travel insurance, with the benefit applicable to all single and multi-trip policies. In the event of a major delay customers will have access to a network of over 500 airport lounges globally in over 100 countries.
Once they have purchased their insurance, customers are invited to register details of their outbound and return flights at least 24 hours before each respective flight departs. Each customer can register up to four guests to accompany them into a lounge. In the event of an announced major delay, customers will be automatically emailed a single-use electronic barcode to gain access to a lounge without the need to carry cards or print outs or pay lounge entry fees.
Alison Wild, Head of Consumer Insurance, Columbus Direct said: "We understand that being able to escape to a lounge and providing a little stress relief is a distinctive benefit should a major delay occur while you are at the airport. Of course this is in addition to the travel delay cover that already comes as part of our policies."
