- Frost & Sullivan participates in mHealth + Telehealth World 2013 to decipher the changing care lexicon
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As the U.S. healthcare landscape shifts to more consumer driven and accountable care models, mobile platforms, telehealth and other technology solutions are becoming a means to connect to the patient outside the traditional clinical setting. Organizations must take mHealth and telehealth models from innovation to value to drive ROI and long-term sustainability as it is no longer about the technology, but what problems the technology is able to solve.
"As healthcare evolves, so does the lexicon. Especially in the fast moving areas tied to IT and mobile aspects of care, this can be a nebulous arena, with people essentially speaking different languages," said Frost & Sullivan Research Director Daniel Ruppar (@DanielRuppar). "As we continue to see increased provider workflow integration of these solutions, in addition to consumer education and adoption, any uncertainties will dissipate. It will no longer be about separation and prefixation, but simply about using applications and encounter experiences in the daily practice of medicine, no matter what the setting or technology path to achieve it."
To evaluate these trends, Ruppar participates in mHealth + Telehealth World 2013 (http://bit.ly/14iFxae), taking place July 24-26 in Boston, Mass. He will partake in the "Analyst Outlook Panel: Clinical and Business Validation for Virtual Care Models" session on day two of the event. This panel will explain the changing care lexicon – mobile devices and applications vs. mobility in healthcare, telemedicine vs. telehealth, eHealth vs. digital health – to elucidate when it matters and why it eventually won't be a concern.
mHealth + Telehealth World 2013 will address current healthcare challenges, including the reduction of readmissions, physician shortages, the improvement of medication adherence, meeting consumer demand, enhancing care delivery and ROI, patient and consumer engagement, and the integration of disparate data sources. The event will feature real world case studies by providers and payers, as well as workshops focused on deepening social engagement to dive into eHealth and gamification strategies.
The conference is suited for integrated delivery networks, hospitals, health systems and provider group practices; services, remote care technology, care management, eHealth, consumer technology, innovation and advanced technology, healthcare integration and medical informatics vendors; health plan and health insurers; pharma organizations; and other IT innovation groups.
