La Scolca, with the Deutschland Sommelier Association, are pleased to present a unique opportunity at this year's ProWein International Trade Fair for Wine and Spirits: a vertical tasting of its prestigious Gavi dei Gavi™ dry white wine, crafted exclusively from Cortese grapes. Chiara Soldati, owner of La Scolca, will present this exciting tasting, offering visitors the chance to try Vintages 2014, 2010, 2007, 2000, 1995 and 1989 and experience what can only be defined as "a dream in a glass".
Ms. Soldati represents the sixth generation of La Scolca, as it approaches its centenary, and has managed the estate with her father Giorgio for over 20 years. She will be available at the Deutschland Sommelier Association booth throughout the day, for questions and further tastings.
About La Scolca
The La Scolca estate was first taken over in 1919 and the Soldati family began its intuitive cultivation of Cortese grapes in an area previously dedicated exclusively to red berry vineyards. With passion, courage and a little magic, production soon developed into a major technical and financial enterprise. Giorgio and Chiara Soldati have proven valuable and innovative interpreters, loyal to the Gavi region and its vines. Together, they have maintained La Scolca's leadership over the years, strengthening its image and notoriety throughout the World and holding its philosophy and its wines to the highest possible standards.
La Scolca wine is renowned for its gorgeous golden color, without signs of hyperoxidation, its nose memories of tobacco and tropical fruit on the palate. It encapsulates perfectly Mario Soldati's famous statement that 'wine is the poetry of the earth'.
