Car Hire Comparator Raises Thousands of Pounds for Charity StreetSmart

Car hire comparator Carrentals.co.uk has raised £5,662 with the help of the government's match funding for StreetSmart, a charity which supports more than 90 homeless charities in 19 cities across the UK.

Carrentals.co.uk ran a string of 'Book & Donate' days throughout the first quarter of 2012 and donated £1 of every car hire booking on those days to StreetSmart.

The car hire comparator also ran a '12 days of Christmas' competition last year and donated the £700 prize value of the competition to StreetSmart in addition to the 'Book & Donate' days which generated £2,131. The money raised by Carrentals.co.uk is also going to be match-funded by the government and as a result StreetSmart will receive a total of £5,662.

The main StreetSmart campaign runs every November and December with restaurants across the UK - including famous names such as Nobu, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay - opting to add a voluntary £1 donation to each table bill.  The £1 donations are then passed on to StreetSmart by participating restaurants to be distributed across its charity projects.
