GÖTEBORG, Sweden, Oct. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Capio has acquired Viborg Privathospital and MR Scanner Aarhus in an asset deal. The clinic in the city of Viborg is primarily specialized in orthopedics and general surgery while the operations at MR Scanner Aarhus comprise radiological examinations. Net sales in 2017 are estimated to MDKK 36. The acquisition is complementary to Capio's existing operations on Jutland and some synergies are expected with the units in Skørping and Aarhus.
The city of Viborg is located centrally on Jutland, less than an hour's drive from Capio's two units in Skørping on North Jutland and in Aarhus. The acquisition strengthens Capio's footprint in the region further and broadens Capio's healthcare offering and capacity to take on greater responsibility for healthcare in Jutland, both in relation to the public healthcare system and insurance companies. Some synergies are expected from the acquisition, for example as resources can be shared between the three Jutland units. The acquired businesses will be included in Capio's Danish operations, Capio CFR, which has been part of Capio since January 1, 2017. Following the acquisition, Capio has six specialized hospitals and clinics in four out of five Danish health regions.
The purchase price is MDKK 24. The acquisition is estimated to be closed and included in the Capio Group from November 1, 2017. The acquisition is not expected to significantly impact the Group's earnings in 2017.
