Canaccord Genuity Strengthens UK & Europe Capital Markets Team With Senior Hires in Corporate Broking, Sales and Equity Research

Canaccord Genuity is pleased to welcome five senior professionals to its capital markets business in the UK & Europe. The group brings deep regional expertise and relationships, and will be able to access the vast resources available across Canaccord Genuity's integrated global platform to help clients in UK and Europe access domestic and international partnerships and investment opportunities.

Alex Aylen joins as Head of Corporate Sales and she brings fifteen years of experience to her role. Most recently she was Head of Sales, Growth Companies at Cenkos Securities, where she worked for more than 10 years. Bobbie Hilliam, joins as Head of Corporate Broking and brings a mix of corporate finance expertise and established relationships, having spent more than six years focused on growth companies with Cenkos Securities and prior to that, more than a decade with Evolution Securities. They will work closely with Canaccord Genuity's broader capital markets teams to deliver a comprehensive range of services and expertise, including public offerings, private placements and corporate support services for emerging and established companies in the UK.

Joanna Parsons has worked in the City for more than 25 years and is a top-ranked Insurance and Specialty Financials analyst. In 2017, she was ranked #1 Earnings Estimator for the Insurance sector by Thompson Reuters and she was also voted Analyst of the Year by the insurance industry in the 2015 Reactions London Market Awards. Most recently, she was an Executive Director and Head of Research at Stockdale Securities and previously she was Head of UK Mid-Market Research at RBS Global Banking & Markets.

Justin Bates has covered the Financials sector since 1997, having started his career as a member of the Financials and Insurance team at ING Groep N.V. Most recently he was Head of Diversified Financials at Liberum Capital, where his team was ranked 2nd in the 2017 Extel rankings. Previously he covered European Financials at Keefe Bruyette & Woods and also served as Head of Financials research for Numis Securities.

Portia Patel is an equity research analyst with six years of experience covering Diversified Financials. Most recently, she covered UK specialist banks and lenders, asset and wealth managers, IDBs and exchanges for Liberum Capital and previously she covered European diversified financials at RBC Capital Markets in the UK.
