Cambium Networks Announces eFortify And eCommand To Enhance Performance Of The ePMP™ 1000 Platform In High-Noise Environments
- Release 2.0 brings new software features to manage external interference and to provide greater network visibility
ROLLING MEADOWS, Illinois, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cambium Networks™, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today announced the availability of eFortify and eCommand software solutions for its leading point-to-multipoint solution the ePMP 1000. Cambium is releasing eFortify so that customers can better recognize and react to external interference in high noise environments. Cambium is also offering eCommand, a suite of management tools to plan, provision and monitor the network, providing operators with the ability to confidently deploy high performance networks, with greater visibility and control. Together, these updates to ePMP comprise software release 2.0.
"Release 2.0 for ePMP 1000 enables our customers to overcome a variety of radio frequency challenges," explains Cambium CEO Atul Bhanagar. "Some of our customers need greater bandwidth because they've got 30 of their own customers on one AP. Others can't scale without GPS Sync, which is critical to their business. And for some the 5 GHz band is extremely noisy; they need system performance in the face of external interference. Whatever challenges our customers are facing, our top priority is to ensure that our networks are easy to run as they scale from network design, provisioning, configuring to full operations."
eFortify allows the ePMP 1000 platform to recognize and react to external interference. It ensures that, under various sources of external interference, the throughput of an ePMP network is not only maximized, the latency remains consistent. It also assures that as a network operator increases the number of subscriber modules, the performance of the system is sustained under challenging interference environments.
eCommand provides a suite of management tools to plan, provision and monitor the network. It includes a capacity planner, spectrum analyzer, and a new network interference tool. The interference tool identifies the sources of external interference and characterizes their impact on each ePMP node (Access Point and subscriber modules) of the network. It provides a quick snapshot of the environment around each node to provide the operator information about the health of their network. Using this information, the operator can take appropriate steps to resolve performance issues in the network, and combat these external interferers.
ePMP 1000 is a fixed wireless access solution that operates in both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands, and offers throughput of up to 200 Mbps per AP. The software can be downloaded at: ePMP Software
What Cambium Customers Are Saying about ePMP 1000:
"We had limits, we had obstacles, and we had demands. The Cambium ePMP platform removed these constraints and allowed us to focus on our expansion efforts without looking back. ePMP is a game changer for us. The bandwidth available in the ePMP series is remarkable. With 30 customers on one AP, we are still able to offer them up to 15 Mbps plans." -- Curt Cormier, President & CEO at Kayse Wireless.
"We are fully committed to Cambium's ePMP platform because GPS Sync is critical to our business. In this price class, ePMP 1000 is the only product that offers performance and scalability that we need. It's the clear choice for us." -- Tushar Patel, Owner and CEO, ECPI, Western Texas Broadband
"For us, the 5 GHz band is extremely noisy. We were amazed with the system performance in the face of external interference. We have a line of sight link operating at 7 km with -65 dBi of noise floor." -- Yazeed Ettaib, Deputy CTO, ION Telecom and Technology.
"Having GPS integrated into the solution has saved us time and money because we don't need to allocate extra tower space for an external GPS device, and it reduces the amount of labor required to install the units. Furthermore, the speed of development from Cambium is incredible. We were able to test a new software load, and within days of providing feedback, the new features were incorporated and released. This is the speed that ISP's need." -- Jaroslaw Szopa, CTO Euron
