LONDON, August 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Unibet 'Start Gun' is an online test measuring reaction speeds to a starting gun, analysing patterns based on age, sex and location metrics. The Unibet game, which has been played by thousands around the globe, has collated the findings to create data visualisation charts so that when you play you can see where you stack up.

The study, which continues pulling data as new players test themselves online, shows women are far quicker to react than men (almost 0.150 seconds quicker across the globe), with women in the 45-54 age bracket suggesting that experience and age is no barrier to getting a head start on their opponents.
The study also found that caffeine does not improve reaction times, contrary to other reports[1] that it does. The Unibet study found that countries such as United States, Venezuela and France with high caffeine consumption[2] demonstrated slow reaction speeds. Additionally, despite the fact that it's been reported[3] Americans consume 400 million cups of coffee a day, they are languishing in the bottom 10% with an average reaction time of 0.884 seconds.
A country that did find the laid back approach was detrimental to their reaction time was France. Famous for Les Grands Vacances[4], where one out of two French disconnect from work and take the summer off, seemed to take a hit on their reaction speed, as they are in the bottom five of global reaction times.
High-level athletes can regularly clock reaction times of under 0.15 seconds, with Florence Griffith Joyner's incredible 0.131s reaction speed at the 1988 Seoul games standing as an almost unassailable speed. Astonishingly, according to our data, an 87-year-old male from Bahrain has an even quicker reaction time of 0.11 seconds.
