BIS Ltd Opens Third Data Hall in London Data Centre

Building on the phenomenal success of its Greenwich data centre, the IT infrastructure service company BIS has announced the launch of its latest server hall at the South East London facility. The self-contained 350 sqm unit offers space for 130 high density equipment cabinets and total capacity for 450Kw of cooling.

"The new server hall is a true N+1 configuration with its own standalone M&E installation, built to the highest standards complying with the latest green data centre initiatives. The new space increases total capacity at the site by 33%. BIS has worked hard to maintain the current high standard of specification for the new infrastructure by deploying new substation mains connectivity, four new 550KVA generators and two redundant 750KVA UPS units. The site has excellent public transport links, plenty of parking spaces and is manned 24/7. The use of biometric access control expedites many of the day to day operational activities including IT personnel access and equipment deliveries. Low cost, diverse gigabit connectivity back to the City of London is available over the BIS Cisco Powered MPLS core network and dedicated leased line services can also be purchased from BT, Virgin, COLT and Geo, all of whom currently operate from the site.
