- ATK to Highlight Affordable Innovation for an International Audience
ATK (NYSE: ATK) announced today it will participate as an exhibitor at the 10th International Defence Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. ATK will highlight a variety of capabilities and programs during the conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre Feb. 20-24. The ATK exhibits are located in Hall 3, Stand B11.
ATK's booth will feature its lightweight remote weapon system capabilities that deliver lethality overmatch, flexibility and modularity to land, air and naval platforms. Specifically, ATK's Modular Advanced Weapon System (MAWS) is a total weapon solution capable of integrating the company's family of medium-caliber chain guns(R) and ammunition, and features an open architecture that allows for integration of most light, medium, and heavy machine guns. The MAWS man-machine interface provides intuitive under armor operation and maximum situational awareness that improves soldier safety and ensures mission success in defense of existing and future threat platforms.
IDEX will also provide customers the opportunity to obtain information on ATK's special mission aircraft portfolio, which provides affordable, responsive and advanced capabilities to customer-preferred platforms. ATK's expertise includes outfitting various aircraft with integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, fire control equipment and air-to-ground weapons capability. This provides customers an enhanced capability to conduct responsive defense, counterinsurgency, and border/coastal surveillance and security missions.
Also on display are ATK's innovative precision weapon system technologies such as the Mortar Guidance Kit (MGK), which combines GPS guidance and fuzing into one package, transforming conventional 120mm mortars in to precision munitions.
ATK will feature its combat-proven AAR-47 Missile Warning System. The AAR-47 is an electronic warfare system designed to protect helicopters and aircraft against surface-to-air missile threats. It also alerts aircrews to threats from laser-guided and laser-aided weapons, and is credited with saving numerous military aircrew lives and aircraft from attack.
The booth will showcase ATK's family of 120mm tank ammunition. ATK and its industry partners provide the world's most advanced, combat-proven and cost-effective tactical and training tank ammunition. This ammunition has been designed for use and demonstrated in several main battle tanks including the Abrams and Leopard 2.
ATK will display the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) which provides the warfighter with the latest and most advanced weapon system for engaging and destroying enemy air defenses and time-critical, mobile targets. The AARGM system is a cooperative U.S. and Italian acquisition program, with the U.S. Navy as the executive agent.
Additionally, ATK will also have on view advanced artillery and bomb fuzes, as well as its Insensitive Munitions (IM) solid rocket motor technologies. Designed to satisfy emerging mission requirements and enhanced safety for the next generation of international weapon systems. ATK's affordable IM technologies have met or exceeded all required IM tests by the US Government.
ATK's innovative business approach is one reason the company is the world leader in small- and medium-caliber ammunition.
