Assan Alüminyum, a subsidiary of the Kibar Group and one of the 3 largest aluminium foil producers in Europe, is celebrating the 30thanniversary of its establishment this year. The company hosted its business partners at the Aluminium 2018, the largest aluminium trade show in the world, taking place on October 9 - 11, in Düsseldorf, with almost 30,000 visitors. The booth's design elements emphasized the firm's focus on being environmentally sustainable in its processes, fitting the slogan "Infinite Harmony with Nature". The semi-green "infinity" aluminium coil design symbolized the infinite cycle of aluminium, as it's 100 percent recyclable and provides renewable energy. Assan Alüminyum produces renewable energy in its own power plant, at a rate that is equivalent to its electrical energy consumption. The company also has an integrated recycling facility contributing to the company's sustainability strategy.
Assan Alüminyum, with 1500 employees and an installed annual capacity of 300 thousand tons, offers its aluminium coil, sheet, foil and painted coil products to a variety of sectors such as packaging, distribution, construction, consumer durables, automotive and HVAC. The company exports flat rolled aluminium to more than 70 countries and 4 continents, mainly to West Europe and to North America.
Assan Alüminyum has recently established its fully owned subsidiary, Kibar Americas, in Chicago, where it aims to serve its North American customers. The company is evaluating opportunities to grow in the North American market. Assan Alüminyum's General Manager Göksal Güngör, who is also the President of Global Aluminium Foil Rollers Initiative (GLAFRI), states: "We differentiate ourselves through our core values of reliability, flexibility and innovation. We provide our business partners with tailor-made solutions, as their localized solution partner. Hence our motto: Creating the Future Together, as our business partners are an essential part of our team."
Assan Alüminyum has installed two new casting lines and a brand new foil mill within 2017. The company will now be able to concentrate more on high value-added products. Additionally, the company is currently planning a large-scale investment project, consisting of a direct chill (DC), hot rolling facility, worth 900 million dollars and forecasts to accommodate 650 additional employees.
The company sheds light on the industry, through its strong R&D. With the know-how of its R&D Center, Assan Alüminyum aims to reinforce its position as one of the global pioneers in the continuous casting technology.
