Asia Pacific Cruise Congress 2016 to be held in Baoshan, Shanghai
Paving the way for China's place in the global cruise economy
SHANGHAI, Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Asia Pacific Cruise Congress 2016 will be held at Lake Malaren International Convention Center in Baoshan District, Shanghai, China between the 12th and 13th of October, 2016. This year's event, themed "Paving the way for China's place in the global cruise economy", is jointly organized by the Shanghai Baoshan District Government and Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and co-organized by Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal Development Co., Ltd., Seatrade UBM and the Shanghai International Cruise Business Institute. The event will bring together approximately 100 top executives from major cruise line brands, as well as government officials, industry experts and other key cruise industry stakeholders from more than ten countries and regions around the world, who will take part in high-level conference sessions focusing on China's impact on the regional and global cruise markets now and in the future.
Baoshan, in its role at the intersection connecting the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (the Chinese government initiative to redevelop the former maritime trade route) and the Yangtze River Economic Zone, has become Shanghai's most important offshore hub and international passenger terminal. As the largest cruise terminal in Asia, the port district has evolved from a major production point for steel to a hub for cruise ship arrivals and departures. The conference will invite global industry insiders to take part in special forums, talk sessions on technology, policy discussions and forums where CEOs of terminals can bring themselves up to date on and discuss the latest industry information and knowledge with a focus on the development of cruise markets in China and across the Asia Pacific region, the potential of the Chinese cruise market and the positive effect such a market is expected to have on the region's major terminals as well as development policies concerning the cruise industry in Baoshan, Shanghai and all of China. The lineup of forums, talk sessions and discussions at the conference is expected to go a long way in boosting the healthy and sustained development of regional cruise markets.
