Ashtons Launches New Mock Inspection Service
BRIGHTON, England, January 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Following the Francis Report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has radically changed the inspection process introducing the intelligent monitoring system and the use of specialist inspectors. Increasingly stringent regulations will be enforced by the CQC as well as by HIS (Scotland) and HIW (Wales).
Patients and healthcare commissioners use inspection reports to make decisions about care, so it is more important than ever to ensure compliance.
Managing medicines safely and effectively is central to the delivery of high quality, patient focused care. To help you achieve this and to help improve compliance, Ashtons can provide independent hospitals, clinics and care homes with an impartial and objective compliance assessment regarding standards for medicines management. This will highlight areas of good practice for quality assurance, identify any deficiencies that need addressing and outline how to improve practice.
Martin England, Pharmacy Services Director, Ashtons commented: "Some of our customers have asked us to perform a mock inspection, looking for areas of compliance and non-compliance in medicines management and to highlight possible areas of concern ahead of any formal inspection. Even if they were unable to correct their compliance issues prior to a formal CQC inspection, our report provided them with evidence that they were attempting to correct the problems."
Any important issues will be communicated on the day of inspection. A full written report is provided which details areas of non-compliance and importantly, also highlights areas of good practice. Following the inspection, Ashtons will provide advice and support to improve medication management.
