Arup will engage conference attendees across two thought-provoking presentations focused on how to build effective fire safety strategies.
Enlightening delegates on the implementation of life-saving solutions, Calum McMillan (Senior Fire Engineer at Arup) recognises the importance of engaging with the high level attendees at IFSEC Istanbul 2013.

Recognising that the future of fire engineering is evolving, McMillan's colleague Pascal Steenbakkers makes the first of Arup's two presentations on Tuesday 1 October. This conference session runs under the heading: 'Fire engineering: Where are we going?', and will incorporate an assessment of the fire engineering challenges of the future and how they might be addressed through the adoption of Best Practice techniques.
Later in the day, Calum McMillan's presentation is entitled: 'Evacuation/Crowd Modelling and Performance-Based Design'. Here, a Case Study will be referenced to illustrate how modelling software can be used to predict the behaviour of crowds in highly populated environments and, in turn, help improve fire safety measures.
