The Postgraduate Certificate has been developed over a two year period to meet the need for an accredited academic credential for soft skills trainers, coaches and teachers. It provides an international gold standard of training excellence in soft skills and experiential learning and will enable trainers to develop their learners' soft skills and employability.
With practitioners in mind, the qualification offers part-time flexible learning. Three modules, including training practice, are delivered through a combination of distance learning, webinars, webcasts and four face to face weekend days at the University of Roehampton. The programme provides rolling enrolment and can be completed within 6 - 12 months.
Emma Sue Prince, Director of Unimenta and Programme Leader said, "I am passionate about the benefits of soft skills and experiential learning, both in the workplace and in education. As a trainer and facilitator myself I know how important it is to have the skillsets in a range of methodologies and techniques to fully engage learners.
Employability is an area where I firmly believe that good soft skills will help bridge the education gap for both younger and older workers alike. Growing awareness from governments and educational bodies of the need for soft skills training and preparation for the workplace is creating stronger demand for such training to be more mainstream.
Trainers receive a combination of theoretical underpinning and practical hands-on use of effective techniques and tools.
Together with Roehampton we wanted to introduce an international soft skill gold standard qualification to the UK."
Diane Bray, Head of Psychology at the University of Roehampton said, "We are very excited to be able to offer this new qualification that provides 60 credits towards a full 180 credit UK Master's Degree. The Programme introduces innovative and effective experiential methodologies that trainers and teachers can adopt to help transform ways of engaging learners."
