Adionics Unveils a new Disruptive Technology, AquaOmnes®, to Democratize Access to Desalination

AquaOmnes is a new technology removing salts from water through saline water deionisation by liquid-liquid absorption. In other words, it removes salts from water at ambient pressure and without the scaling barrier. There are three main benefits: it is a low energy, low liquid discharge, and a truly low cost effective technology.

Our technology could at least halve the price of produced water when compared to the current best of breed technologies available for desalination. AquaOmnes is designed for any kind of saline water, from Municipal to Industrial, including brines and their related applications.

Adionics is moving forward to implement the AquaOmnes technology this year in the Middle East for a significant client.

In March this year, AquaOmnes technology has been selected by the Worldwide Innovation Challenge Commission sponsored by the French Government in the category "Value-creation through Sea: desalination and marine wealth".

AquaOmnes is a patented technology invented and developed by Adionics. Its Founder and CEO, Guillaume de Souza, presented on Monday 5 May the technology during the IFAT fair, the World's Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management. "It is a real turning point. So far, the classic desalination technologies were removing water from saline water. Our AquaOmnes technology does the opposite: it removes salts from saline water. For seawater for example, we move only 3.5% of the mass and therefore consume far less energy. It works from brackish water to highly concentrated brine.
