Swegon, the market leader in energy efficient ventilation and climate systems, has kickstarted 2012 with economic growth, new products and renown industry awards.
The largest wholly owned company in Investment AB Latour, has grown into one of the most profitable Swedish companies and finished last year (2011) with sales increased by about 26 percent to 2,707 milliard SEK (2,7 billion SEK)/ 327 million EUR (2,153 billion SEK/ 240 million EUR in 2010). Swegon's organic growth is 13 percent after currency adjustments. Launching a new system, new products & trade shows
"Swegon has always been a pioneer when it comes to developing new products," states Mats Holmqvist. The latest proof of the companys industrie leadership in innovation has been demonstrated on Stockholm's Nordbygg-fair and Mostra Convegno in Milan with the launch of TELLUS. The new "inVENTilation" reduces energy consumption for ventilation, heating, cooling and tap water up to 30 percent. In contrary to conventional systems, TELLUS is an integrated single unit, making it easy to install and operate. Holmqvist explained at Nordbygg: "TELLUS is a fantastic example of Swegon's holistic system thinking.
Apart from TELLUS Swegon also launched AQUA Link and SMART Link, REACT and Parasol in the past months.

Going East
At the Acrex exhibition 2012 in Bangalore, India, Swegon's CEO and President, Mats Holmqvist, announced Blue Box, a company of the Swegon-group, plans to build a new plant in India. "The plant will be located near Mumbai and start off as an assembly of our close control products". The factory is going to be a platform to serve the Indian market as well as the Middle East area. "Our goal is to start assembly in the new plant during the fourth quarter of 2012," reports Mats Holmqvist.
In May the European market leader for ventilation and indoor climate systems has received the business license for its newest subsidiary: Swegon Indoor Climate Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China. "Being located in Shanghai, allows us to cover the major domestic markets in China, namely Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou in South China," reports Andreas Engström, the Country Manager. The market for indoor climate solutions in China is significant and offers many opportunities now and in the future. The Chinese Government is planning to invest 7 trillion CNY between 2011 and 2015 in the construction industry. One of the highest priorities for the Government is to reduce the environmental footprint this huge investment will bring along.

At the price ceremony on this year's Nordbygg exhibition in Stockholm Swegon won the Big Indoor Climate Award 2011 for its Hotel Solution, presented by the City of Stockholm's environmental commissioner, Per Ankersjö. Swegon Hotel Solution is a holistic system, developed to create an energy efficient, healthy and comfortable indoor climate in hotels. "We are focusing more and more on holistic systems and solutions. Our customers can rely on that every link in the system is optimized and working as a perfectly balanced package", states Mats Holmqvist, CEO and President of Swegon AB, after the award ceremony and added "this award is a huge honour. We like to take this award as compliment to our innovative products and holistic approach to ventilation". The jury selected Swegon for an intelligent, innovative and commercially available turnkey solution for climate control of the hotel, an application of climate technology where the users have high demands. But also at the Acrex exhibition 2012 in Bangalore, India, was a successful event for the Swedish manufacturer. Swegon won the Innovation Award of Excellence.
