Abused California Dog's Story of Survival Inspires Heart-warming Book from South African Author
THOUSAND OAKS, California, November 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Champ: My Story of Survival documented by author Fiona Ingram
When award-winning children's author Fiona Ingram (South Africa) read about an abused little dog in California called Champ, she was inspired to document his story for several reasons. The first was to help raise funds for S.A.F.E. Rescue, the non-profit rescue site that took Champ in. The second was to raise awareness about animal abuse, and offer advice on the many ways people can help.
"If you ever wondered about miracles, Champ's story is proof they do still happen. And Champ believes in guardian angels because his angel was working overtime the day his previous owners decided to drop him off at an animal shelter, instead of throwing his seemingly lifeless body into a dumpster." When author Ingram read about Champ's amazing struggle back to life from the brink of death, she was appalled and moved. Appalled that such neglect and abuse could even happen in the first place, and moved by a little dog's immense courage, fortitude, and most importantly his will to live, and his ability to forgive and love humans again. Champ's motto is: "Never give up!"
S.A.F.E. Rescue says: "Champ has touched the hearts of so many people and has been an inspiration to bring awareness and attention to the plight of abused and neglected pets. They just want to be loved and blossom into wonderful companions with unconditional love."
News of Ingram's book has met with a huge response from Champ's Facebook fans and animal lovers worldwide. This is a must for readers who enjoy heart-warming animal stories and want to do more for animals. Included are easy tips on how to make a difference, a wonderful "pome" written by Champ about his happy ever after life, and a short story fiction for younger readers. Champ makes public appearances as the spokesdog for S.A.F.E. Rescue and inspires even more people he meets in person.
