Ab Ovo and DB Systel Entered into a 5-year Agreement to Build up a Planning Competence Center to Optimize DB Schenker Rail's pan-European Operations

DB Schenker Rail operates one of the largest freight wagon and locomotive fleets in Europe, with 5,300 freight trains running daily and covering 100 billion metric ton-kilometers annually. To manage the need for large-scale efficiency improvement, Ab Ovo and DB Systel joined forces to build up a planning competence center to optimize DB Schenker Rail's pan-European network operations and resource utilization

Various functional applications will be deployed throughout DB Schenker Rail to solve the rail cargo puzzles, from long-term planning to day of operations and from traction to loc drivers. The main platform will be based on Quintiq technology.
