$3.4 Million Raised By Morgan Pressel Foundation To Fight Breast Cancer

-- St. Andrews Country Club Hosts 7^th Annual Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Golf Tournament

BOCA RATON, Florida, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The 7^th Annual Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Golf Tournament hosted by St. Andrews Country Club January 5 and 6 raised $600,000 to fight breast cancer. $3.4 million has been raised entirely through the generosity of St. Andrews CC members and sponsors of the Morgan Pressel Foundation since 2007. Pressel, LPGA star, is the St. Andrews Resident Touring Professional.

Pressel, her Morgan Pressel Foundation Committee, St. Andrews CC members and LPGA stars Paula Creamer, Juli Inkster, Stacy Lewis, Gerina Piller and Lexi Thompson helped make this year the most successful fund-raiser yet.

The foundation supports Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Morgan Pressel Center for Cancer Genetics. Each year the Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Golf Tournament enjoys significant growth from St. Andrews member participation, sponsors and donations.

Pressel said, "For seven years, together with my fellow St. Andrews members and numerous LPGA and PGA stars, we have raised over $3.4 million dollars in the fight against breast cancer. It amazes me when I think of that amount being raised for a cause so close to me and many others." Bobby Collins, superstar comedian, starred Sunday evening at the cocktail reception, dinner and silent and live auctions.  On Monday, winning bidders played 9 holes with an LPGA star and enjoyed golf clinics hosted by Pressel and friends, entertaining 175 club members with personal anecdotes about their careers.
