100 days to go: Saudi Arabia showcases readiness for #AsianCup2027

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- With 100 days to go until the opening match of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 on January 7, 2027, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) confirmed that preparations have transitioned from the planning phase to full operational status.

AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, said: "As we draw closer to the best-ever edition of the AFC Asian Cup, we must express our gratitude to the Local Organising Committee, Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Saudi Arabian Government for their meticulous preparations.

The AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 kicks off on 7 January with Saudi Arabia vs Palestine at the King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Riyadh — one of three host cities alongside Jeddah and Al Khobar. The 24-team Group Stage runs until 20 January, followed by the knockout rounds, culminating in the Final on February 5 at King Fahd Sports City Stadium.
