Infortrend Releases New SFF EonStor DS Storage System to Fulfill 2.5" High Performance SAS HDDs Demands
TAIPEI, Taiwan, May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495) today released a new small form factor (SFF) storage system "EonStor DS 1036B", designed to fulfill the demands of maximizing performance and efficiency for entry level users of high RPM SAS 2.5" hard disk drives (HDD).
With 2.5" drives vastly overtaking 3.5" 15000RPM SAS drives, entry-level users are facing the challenging of finding replacement systems for the better performance drives support. Infortrend, with its proven track record in high quality SFF storage systems, understands the needs and released their new 3U 36-bay EonStor DS 1036B storage to offer not only better performance with high performance 2.5" SAS drives, but also higher efficiency, lower operating costs since the 3U 36-bay storage system needs less space (footprint) and lower power consumption thanks to its high density SFF system enclosure.
In addition to its performance advantages with 2.5" SAS drives, EonStor DS 1036B also offers great flexibility through its hybrid host interface which provides 16Gb/s or 8Gb/s Fibre Channel, 10Gb/s or 1Gb/s iSCSI and 12Gb/s or 6Gb/s SAS host ports for maximum connectivity, as well as high scalability with support for up to 324 drives via JBOD expansion enclosures.
