"This event is restricted to carefully chosen organisations and individuals that we see as potential facilitators in taking the Sudan DDR programme forward and will take the format of a vibrant, informative one-day agenda, that includes; individual presentations; panel and group discussions; and Q & A Sessions with senior officials. Personal one-to-one meetings can also be organised if requested in advance," Mr. Osman added.
The Sudan DDR/CSAC programme in the Sudan is a nationally owned programme. Headed by the Minister of Presidential Affairs, the National DDR Coordination Council (NDDRCC) was established to oversee the DDR process at the highest policy level. Formation of the Sudan DDR Commission (SDDRC) followed to lead the design and implementation of DDR within their geographic areas of responsibility. The SDDRC operates throughout the country with implementation carried out by state offices in coordination with the SDDRC headquarters in Khartoum.
