Decision makers from care homes, housing providers, home care agencies and from across the NHS attended this week's Care & Dementia Show 2015 at the NEC to source new products and services, learn from the free topical educational programme and network with industry peers.
Shelia Heywood-Holt, Director of Operations, The Looking After Each Other Fed said:
"The show has a great mix of suppliers which is ideal - we came to source new ideas for technology and nursing aids and have made quite a few new contacts."
Angela Baxter of Warrington's Three Bridges Care Home added:
"We came to see what's new in the market and have found lots of new ideas and solutions including an incredible new bed - it's a brilliant show."
Helen Kent, Centre Director at City and Islington College commented:
"From a professional updating perspective, the event - and particularly the seminars - have been really informative."
Alison Jones, Managing director, Vivo Care Choices Limited said:
"Very informative and relevant show, it has given me time to focus on visioning what our dementia offer will look like in the future. Thought provoking and worth the effort to attend."
Exhibitors too were enthusiastic in their praise. Gareth Ford, Manager, Little Islands said: "We have met a really broad spectrum of decision makers from across the care community here at the Care & Dementia Show. We now have a significant number of new business leads and are delighted to have been part of this dynamic event."
John Tanner, Managing Director, TenderCare added:
"This is the first time we have exhibited at Care & Dementia Show and the quality of the visitors has been first class. We are definitely returning next year and would recommend other companies wishing to reach a concentration of care industry decision makers over a two day period to do the same!"
Winner of the Care & Dementia Show's first Start-Up Academy was RemindMeCare - a digitised 'this is me' app that aims to improve care through the use of online social, search and big data technologies. CEO Simon Hooper commented: "Our product was created for care homes, day care centres, memory clinics and hospitals and we have met a huge number of decision-makers from all these key audiences already at the show. To win the Care & Dementia Show's innovation award is the icing on the cake for RemindMeCare and will demonstrate to our audience that we really have something new and powerful."
Shiraz Khan, Development Manager, well Careplus added:
"Being our first time at the show, we have been pleasantly surprised with the number of high level decision makers we have met. We have exceeded our business outcomes with positioning our new Careplus brand and demonstrating our product to a mass audience, gaining a significant amount of business leads. We have already rebooked for next year and look forward to coming back."
The Care & Dementia Show 2015 took place alongside a high profile, two day International Dementia Conference in partnership with the University of Stirling's Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC).
Stephanie Clarke, Day Care Co-ordinator, Peabody said:
"I came to the International Dementia Conference to source ideas and workable solutions in training, accreditation and design. I thought I knew a lot before I came but now realise how much more there is to learn. I've also networked with some really inspirational people from all over the world - it's true to say the conference has exceeded all my expectations."
Geoff D Slater, Director, Maesbrook Care Home added:
"As we are about to invest in a care home, we came to the International Dementia Conference and the Care & Dementia Show to hear other people's perspectives and source new ideas.
