Belgian Wedding Planner Innovates With a Comparison Tool in Six Languages Which Assists in the Quest for the Perfect Engagement Ring
SINT-MARTENS-LATEM, Belgium, September 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Iris Decreus, a professional wedding planner with a love for diamond engagement rings, launched her brand new website http://www.find-diamond-engagement-ring.co.uk yesterday. She created the platform, which is available in six languages, as a result of her latest study that involved comparing the various (online) sellers of diamond jewellery. The two-part study saw Iris investigate the service level and the prices offered by ten major names together with a number of local players in the diamond jewellery sector. The online diamond jewellery brand Baunat emerged in first place.
"Given that I sometimes also work as an engagement planner, the bridegroom-to-be often asks me a range of questions about what is after all a 'not unimportant' element of the engagement - the engagement ring," Iris said during an interview, explaining her motives for the study. Because of the specific knowledge required about diamonds in order to successfully make such a purchase, Iris decided to conduct a thorough investigation herself.
In view of the rising success of the e-commerce industry, Iris focussed primarily on international diamond jewellery brands that have an e-boutique in addition to physical retail outlets or showrooms. Brands such as Cartier, Tiffany, De Beers, Baunat and Bulgari were all subjected to intense scrutiny, with Iris set to repeat the survey every three months so that the latest information is always available.
The first part of her investigation involved the pricing used by these 16 brands. It emerged, that for an identical product (for example, an 18 karat white gold ring set with a 1.00 ct round diamond, graded VS2 for clarity and VG for cut), there were dramatic price differences. Brands such as Cartier, Harry Winston and Bulgari asked over three times more for the same proven quality jewellery as companies such as Blue Nile or Baunat.
The second part of her investigation concentrated on the service level of these diamond jewellery brands. Using a search query, visitors can state which aspects they consider important and can discover which diamond jewellers satisfy them. A comparative table also provides general information such as the language in which visitors are assisted, the payment options and where the jewellery is created. This means that such a major purchase can still be made online with peace of mind.
