If you are wishing for a quiet Christmas this year, the newly launched What on Earth? Wallbook Timelines are the perfect antidote to 'Why' and 'What-if' kids. Curious children can lose themselves in 14-billion years of history, laid out in a series of beautifully illustrated two metre long timelines, with answers to just about every question adults don't know.

Designed for inquisitive children aged 8 to 14 years, there are five titles to choose from: The history of the World, Science, Nature, Sport and Shakespeare. Each book connects key events in history along a chronological timeline, using over 1,000 hand-drawn illustrations accompanied by amazing facts, to give a complete picture of everything that's ever happened on Planet Earth.
A special Wallbook pocket magnifier brings hidden information into view. Newspaper style stories report on events as if they happened yesterday, adding drama and realism to historical moments. There is a 50-question quiz for children to test their knowledge, or better still their brothers', sisters', aunts', uncles', mums' and dads', to find out who knows the most.
How was the world created? Why did the dinosaurs die out? When did the Olympic Games begin? Why did the Romans invade Britain? Who discovered gravity? Answers to all these questions and more can be found in the timelines, which feature the most important topics children are studying at KS2 and 3 of the National Curriculum.
"Why couldn't history lessons at school be like this? Our whole family were glued to it from the moment we opened the package: "Mummy look a dinosaur, an Egyptian, a rocket, a Roman, a Viking boat... Daddy look we came from monkeys..." my child squealed, having just discovered evolution!"
