httv announces the availability of httvLink for Broadcom chipsets

PARIS, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- At the occasion of the IBC 2013, httv announces the availability of "httvLink" for Broadcom chipsets to provide an advanced and cost effective HbbTV solution for the free to air and pay-TV market.

httvLink is an Open Middleware for connected TV receivers. It is based on Linux and HTML5. Fully compatible with HbbTV, the growing standard for connected TV, httvLink offers advanced features such as multi-screen, TV portal applications, user profile, distribution of content within the home, non-linear TV services (VOD, catch-up TV and Push VOD), enhanced EPG, web browsing and multi-source media playback. It is available for all TV platforms: from pure broadcast (DVB-T/T2/ S/S2/ C front-ends) to pure IP (IPTV, OTT) and hybrid.

httvLink is available for integration with Broadcom's BCM7231 chipset and can be extended to a full range of Broadcom chipsets, including the BCM7362 and BCM7563, to address all market needs. The availability of httvLink software for Broadcom chipsets will enable manufacturers and operators to provide powerful connected-TV platforms for mass production.
