FinanzBuch Verlag: UBS Whistleblower Story Goes Global
MUNICH, April 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
After a successful release in the United States, UBS Whistleblower Bradley Birkenfeld's memoirs "LUCIFER'S BANKER" (http://www.lucifersbanker.com) is being highly sought after by book publishers around the world. Germany's FinanzBuch Verlag will release the German version "DES TEUFEL'S BANKER" on April 10, 2017 in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. "We are very proud to be the first to launch the German version of Lucifer's Banker in Europe," stated Christian Jund (Chairman of FBV). Several international publishing deals are either signed or in development, including: France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain and Thailand.
Mr. Birkenfeld has teamed up with proven industry media veteran Martin Schuermann along with the premier talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to develop both scripted and unscripted TV shows around Bradley's epic story.
Bradley Birkenfeld was a Director at UBS private banking in Geneva, Switzerland managing high-net-worth US clients, keeping their assets in the then notorious secret Swiss numbered accounts. In 2007, after several unsuccessful attempts within UBS to change their practices of blatant billion-dollar tax evasion, Mr. Birkenfeld blew the whistle to several US agencies including: the IRS, DOJ, SEC and the US Senate only to be received with mixed reactions. After a long legal struggle, Mr. Birkenfeld was the only UBS banker sent to jail (for 30 months) by the DOJ. Weeks after his release, Mr. Birkenfeld was recognized by the IRS with a $104 million award - the largest in history.
LUCIFER'S BANKER gives an unprecedented look into the secret Swiss private banking practices and the global network of politics, corruption and money through the eyes of a courageous whistleblower who took on the largest bank and the largest government in the world and ultimately won.
