BRAGA, Portugal, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Displax, a developer of interactive technologies today announced the launch of SKIN ULTRA, a transparent film that has been specifically developed to address the demands of global TV manufacturers who are actively exploring the next generation of touch technology for home TV consumers. SKIN ULTRA is a conformable film that can be used in flat, curved and foldable touch screen designs without diminishing performance with performance being comparable to the touch sensitivity of a 10" tablet or a smartphone. The product range starts at 47" and will scale up-to 84" by end-2014.
Miguel Fonseca, CEO, Displax commented, "The touch experience for large formats is now the same as your iPhone - there is no compromise on speed or touch sensitivity! We firmly believe that 2014 and beyond marks the rise of a new consumer in the home and anticipate high demand for TV home applications with a touch experience capability to drive industry growth over the next 5 years. To date, we've been extremely successful in the corporate marketplace with large format applications but clearly see home consumers as a massive new segment given positive indications from major Korean and Taiwanese TV manufacturers who are actively seeking to develop the next generation of touch experience products for the home."
