Daimler India Commercial Vehicles CEO to Speak at Commercial Vehicle Megatrends India 2012
LONDON, February 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Automotive World's Commercial Vehicle Megatrends India 2012 conference (25-27 April 2012, Chennai) will feature leading industry speakers and a tour of the soon-to-be inaugurated Daimler plant with an exclusive BharatBenz ride & drive.
Marc Llistosella, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, has been confirmed as the lead speaker at Automotive World's Commercial Vehicle Megatrends India 2012 (http://www.automotiveworld.com/events/commercial-vehicle-megatrends-india-2012/agenda) conference, which will be held in Chennai from 25-27 April 2012.
The theme of the three-day conference organised by Automotive World is "Growth opportunities - the next ten years", and will feature speakers and delegates from domestic and global commercial vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, regulatory bodies and other industry stakeholders.
As well as presentations by leading industry speakers, and valuable networking opportunities, delegates will have the opportunity to tour the brand new, state-of-the-art Daimler India Commercial Vehicles factory in Oragadam, near Chennai, and drive the BharatBenz trucks that are built there.
Over the three days, topics covered will include diesel engine technology, alternative fuels, hybridization, transmissions, safety, logistics, fleet management and manufacturing.
"India is one of the world's fastest-growing truck markets, and the time is now for OEMs and suppliers to shape the industry," said Gareth Davies, Automotive World's Chief Executive. "Commercial Vehicle Megatrends India 2012 is a great opportunity for the industry's stakeholders to meet and discuss the key issues facing the Indian commercial vehicle market, and thanks to Daimler, also have a look inside India's newest truck plant and drive the BharatBenz trucks."
India is the world's second-largest market for medium and heavy commercial vehicles. The market is expected to double by 2020, thanks to the growing importance of joint ventures between global and domestic CV OEMs, including Mahindra & Mahindra with Navistar (MNAL) and Volvo and Eicher (VE Commercial Vehicles), as well as the wholly-owned operations of global OEMs like Daimler and MAN.
