Behre Dolbear Group Appoints Karr McCurdy as Chief Operating Officer

Behre Dolbear Group has appointed Mr. Karr McCurdy Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the renowned minerals advisory firm. Mr. Bernard Guarnera, now President and Chairman, will remain head of the corporation until December 31, 2011, when Mr. McCurdy will become President and CEO. "The change in management further enhances Behre Dolbear's ability to meet the expanding requirements of its clients and supports the growth of our business groups," said Barney Guarnera.

Mr. McCurdy's career has evolved over the last 30 years from hands-on geologic, operational, and project development roles to finance, where he has been a champion of mine development globally.
Prior to joining Behre Dolbear, Mr. McCurdy was the global head of mining and metals for Standard Chartered Bank, where he built its international, sector-focused banking and advisory practice. He also held other senior banking positions in particular with Citigroup where he directed its global mining focus for 13 years. He has been a leader in developing business strategy and client relationships, portfolio and risk management, product development, structuring transactions, and technical due diligence. Mr. McCurdy also has considerable experience in the metals sector including steel, aluminum, ferro-alloys, and specialty metals including titanium.
