LEAMINGTON SPA, England, March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Cooking giant AGA has launched an infographic on their website http://www.agaliving.com/ for fans of Shrove Tuesday.
The infographic includes facts, figures and world records to honour Pancake Day.
AGA wants the infographic to inspire people to invest some time and effort in Pancake Day by making it more fun and celebrating it more. AGA hope that by releasing fun facts about pancakes, friends and families will come up with their own ideas about how to get creative with the day.
As well as inspiring pancake lovers, the infographic also informs them of the history of Shrove Tuesday, to give people an insight into why the day is actually celebrated as many people are unaware. One of the most unusual facts on the infographic is that the first pancake in the Midlands was actually fed to chickens to ensure that they had perfect fertility throughout the year.
Customers who view the AGA infographic will learn about the different pancake traditions; for example, it is customary in France to touch the handle of the frying pan and make a wish while the pancake is being turned, holding a coin in one hand it also informs people that every country has their own version of the pancake.
Kathryn Lowe, Marketing Manager, said: "We love Pancake Day here at AGA and we want our customers to share our enthusiasm too, it's a fun day that should be celebrated and we hope that the infographic will give people some pancake inspiration."
The infographic includes fun facts, such as: the largest pancake ever made and flipped, the fastest pancake flipper, the most pancakes eaten in an hour and the largest stack of pancakes. On Shrove Tuesday in the UK we will eat an average of two pancakes per person, which is 117 million pancakes on one day.
For those that enjoy the Pancake Day infographic, there is the option to share it with friends and family via social media.
