The UK's First National Tutoring Conference to Take Place in London on 10th February
LONDON, February 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Industry Leaders Gather to Discuss the Future of the UK's Tutoring Industry
The UK's first National Tutoring Conference, organised by TutorCruncher, will be held on the 10th February 2015. The event, which is supported by some the UK's leading tutoring agencies and organisations, will provide private tutors and educational professionals with a unique opportunity to gain new insights into the £6 billion industry.
According to an Ipsos MORI survey, there are an estimated 1.5 million private tutors currently working in the UK. These numbers surpass those of classroom teachers and even NHS workers, yet until now industry leaders have never met under one roof as part of a national conference.
The education charity The Sutton Trust reports that 1 in 4 school children in the UK now use private tutors to aid them in their studies. In London alone, 40 per cent of parents pay for extra lessons - a higher proportion than anywhere else in the UK.
Woody Webster, one of the event organisers from TutorCruncher, reports:
"The private tutoring industry has experienced huge growth in recent years and we see this event as an opportunity to reflect on how far it has come and where it is headed in the future.
For some self-employed tutors, the profession can sometimes seem lonesome, so we hope that this conference will help tutors make connections and share their experiences of working in the industry."
The conference will include talks from industry leaders and educational professionals on:
- The rapid growth of the tutoring industry over the last 10 years
- What the next 10 years hold
- The International Tutoring Market
- The Rise of Tuition Centres and Interactive Learning
- Working with Schools and political actors
Speakers confirmed for the conference include renowned journalist Toby Young, Chris Lenton from The Tutor's Association, Daniel Thomas from Education Investor, Will Orr-Ewing from Keystone Tutoring, Alex Nikitich from Carfax Education and Susannah Hardyman from Action Tutoring.
