The Little Welsh Dresser in Llandeilo is Planning to Chalk up an Amazing Total for the NSPCC
LLANDEILO, Wales, November 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Annie Sloan Stockists in Llandeilo are holding a special late night event on Friday 21st November from 9:30 am - 10 pm at The Little Welsh Dresser to help raise a whopping £25,000 for the NSPCC. This also ties in with the incredibly popular 'Llandeilo Christmas Festival of Senses' from the 21st to 23rd November, so this really will be a weekend not to miss!
The Little Welsh Dresser is inviting shoppers to enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies whilst watching wonderfully creative painters provide demonstrations, hints and tips on how to create unique pieces of painted furniture using Annie Sloan's decorative paint, Chalk Paint™. With advice on colour selection and techniques, the event will give budding interior designers the confidence to use Annie Sloan's paint and waxes at home. The event is free to the public with a donation box on hand to encourage visitors to help raise vital funds for the NSPCC.
The Little Welsh Dresser is one of over 250 Annie Sloan Stockists across the UK who have joined forces in a bid to help raise £25,000 for the NSPCC, UK's leading children's charity specialising in child protection. Keep up with the news on this special event on Facebook, Twitter and Instragram by following #AnnieSloanLate.
Benedict, manager of The Little Welsh Dresser, said, "We've only recently opened in Llandeilo, so this is a great chance to visit the beautiful shop and see the Chalk Paint™ in action! As a group, the UK stockists collectively decided that if we joined forces we could potentially raise a lot of money for charity. We choose the NSPCC because the life changing support they offer vulnerable children is incredible."
Whilst the shop has only recently opened, it's been in Benedict's family for over 110 years and has many of the original features from when his grandparents ran a tobacconist here, including the shop front, counter and display unit.
Sara Williams, NSPCC regional corporate fundraising manager, said, "We are delighted that The Little Welsh Dresser is supporting the NSPCC. The money raised will help us to run our vital services and helplines that are so often a lifeline for vulnerable children and young people. It will make a massive difference to the lives of children across the UK. On behalf of all the children I would like to say thank you to The Little Welsh Dresser and customers. Ninety per cent of our funding comes from donations and we simply couldn't continue to provide our services without the continued generosity of supporters like The Little Welsh Dresser."
