POOLE, England, September 1 /PRNewswire/ -- New product development and the success of the award-winning Yacht Range have helped Sunseeker International to achieve record sales figures once again, increasing annual turnover by 15% to GBP172 million (US$311 million). According to the company's end of year figures to July 2005, operating profit has also increased significantly on the previous year to over GBP4.0 million (US$7miilion).
Continued investment in the development of the company's manufacturing processes, new products and improved facilities to meet the demand of the growing global market are considered to be among the major contributing factors of the company's year-on-year success.
Further major expansion on Poole's waterfront on the south coast of England, has involved the second phase of planned investment in more new manufacturing facilities for the production of Sunseeker craft over 100 feet. A new factory at New Quay alongside existing shipyard facilities and the re-development of the site which includes 300 metres of prime deep-water access is seen as a major step forward.
In addition, the purchase of a further 4 acre site (16,188m2) alongside the Sunseeker Technology Centre at Mannings Heath in Poole will enable the company to build additional facilities to accommodate the very latest state-of-the-art and fully-automated manufacturing processes.
The development of new products also continues apace with at least 3 new models introduced every year. Products range from 35 feet to over 35 metres, and building on the success of the 105 Yacht and Yacht Range the development of both the 125 Yacht and 135 Yacht has recently been re-focussed on new 35M and 36.5M Yachts. Much of the company's plans are based on meeting the demand of its customers for ever bigger and better boats, through their involvement in every stage of the build programme. As a direct result, new orders have been placed for a number of the larger models currently under construction.
As a result of the investment made in 2004 there has been improved sales activity at Sunseeker Florida, and in particular increased demand for the company's larger models across the USA. This has led to the Sunseeker Florida re-locating its operation from Pompano Beach to new premises further south in Harbour Towne Marina at Dania Beach. The move provides quicker access to the ocean, via the Port Everglades Inlet as well as being conveniently situated for Fort Lauderdale International Airport. The marina is well serviced and accommodates the company's larger models adequately, providing a better facility for the sales and customer service operations.
A global leader in the design and build of luxury motoryachts, Sunseeker International exports 99% of its product range and employs over 1,500 highly trained staff in their shipyards on Britain's south coast. Sunseeker International is widely recognised tras the pre-eminent marine brand in the world today.
