Streakers hang out at British Open and World Swimming Championships
Sandwich, England, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyber casino GoldenPalace.com continues to pursue unconventional marketing as two streakers made an impression this weekend wearing "GoldenPalace.com" ad tattoos: Saturday's World Swimming Championships in Barcelona and the PGA Tour's British Open in Sandwich on Sunday.
Mark Roberts, the world's most prolific streaker, made his fifth appearance as the casino's body billboard when he streaked the World Swimming Championships on Saturday. Just when it you thought it was safe to go back in the water, Roberts, dressed only in a pink tutu, red bathing cap, and the casino's Net address tattoo did a little ballet dance before jumping into the pool during the synchronised swimming final of the championships. As with his other streaks, Roberts received a hearty ovation from the crowd for his antics. Even though his performance was not as graceful as the other swimmers', Roberts definitely scored points for originality.
The audience at the British Open on Sunday received a better show than they bargained for as 28-yr-old London resident Laura Gosling streaked during the presentation of the championship trophy. As Ben Curtis was being handed the Claret Jug, a topless Gosling broke away from the crowd and made a beeline for the 500-1 longshot winner to present him with a kiss. Security intercepted her and escorted her off the course before she could reach Curtis. As with US Open streaker Brittney Skye, Gosling wore pasties over her nipples and the ad tattoo on her chest and back.
GoldenPalace.com's streaker advertising campaign began with Mark Roberts' streak of the UEFA Cup Final over a month ago. Since then, the casino has arranged several more streaks including the PGA Tour's US Open, the UK's prestigious Royal Ascot, and the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona.
Due to the recent increase in sports streaking, ESPN's SportsCenter and HBO's Real Sports With Bryant Gumble have both decided to interview Mark Roberts as well as Brittney Skye as part of their in-depth features on the streaking phenomenon.
