Stiftung Warentest: Peach Best Alternative for Canon Cartridge Chips

SCHINDELLEGI, Switzerland, October 13 /PRNewswire/ -- In the magazine 'test' (October 2008) compatible ink cartridges were tested for the Canon series PGI-5 and CLI-8. Among all alternative brands, Peach's is number one. It received the quality assessment 'Good (2.5)' from Stiftung Warentest and reduces costs by up to 60 per cent. Already in July the renowned German consumer protection organisation stated in its ink test (included alternatives for HP cartridges 21 and 22): "For HP the printer ink from Peach is recommended: It reduces costs considerably and prints 'well'." Consumers and retailers can obtain Peach products, which are also available at the same quality under the brand 'AgfaPhoto', for example over the internet at http://www.3ppp3.com

In many Canon* printers a chip on the cartridge monitors the ink level, making it difficult to use alternative products. Now there are cartridges with a copy chip.

Stiftung Warentest, using the Canon Pixma iP3500, tested whether the copy chips work and the six alternative cartridges are comparable in print quality. The result: the Peach ink provides a 'good' print quality, a fill level indicator which works and a considerable reduction in costs, approx. 50 % for black and approx. 60 % for colour printing.

The ink cartridges for the Canon PGI-5 and CLI-8 series are also distributed by 3T Supplies under the brand 'AgfaPhoto'.
