Srikanth faced off against Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia, and pulled off some fantastic shots to take the win, 21-18, 21-13.
Srikanth said: "I'm happy the way it went, I just decided to start aggressively and that worked for me. The group is wide open and tomorrow I have a pretty tough match. It could well be a decider, all have a chance. I just want to continue the form that I came with."
Nehwal was next on court against Sung Ji Hyun of Korea. Nehwal dominated in the first game winning it 21-12, but the second was much closer, with Nehwal finally closing it out 21-18.
Nehwal praised her opponent, saying: "Yesterday she was very good against Bae, she beat her comfortably. The last time we played in the Asian Games it was three games. First game tonight was quite easy but in the second set she was coming back into form and she was trying to making me play longer rallies.
"But it was good that I was able to pick out the shots and finally pull off this second tough match.
I'm really happy with the crowd, it's like India, I hope they keep coming for the other matches as well and keep supporting us.
"Tomorrow I will just play the same way, all the girls in my half including me are girls who play long rallies so it's really tough. I still feel I have a lot of areas to work on. But I'm very happy I'm showing improvement from the previous three months.
"Winning in China was really big for me because I beat three Chinese there, in past years no one has done that. It gave me a lot of confidence, I was tired in Hong Kong after China but I had a few weeks to prepare for this."
Nehwal will meet Bae Yeon Ju of Korea, while Srikanth will face Denmark's Jan O Jorgensen in the final round robin matches today.
