SEO Positive Responds to News of Search Traffic Decrease

Leading online promotion company, SEO Positive, have responded to news that search engine traffic has decreased for the first time this year.

Data released from Experian Hitwise last week, revealed that visits to major search engines have decreased by 100 million since July 2012. Year-on-year, visits are down by 40 million since August 2011 with last month being the first month of 2012 that saw no year-on-year increase in search engine activity.

Google saw a drop of 0.02% in traffic in August compared to July 2012. It is thought this could be a result of Apple severing ties with Google, with its latest iOS6 update seeing the removal of Google maps as well as YouTube no longer being featured as a built-in app.

However, Google remains the leading search engine with a 90.94% share of searches in August 2012, compared to 3.91% from Microsoft, 2.77% from Yahoo and 1.95% from Ask.
