Business customers can now send urgent packages to reach American cities by 12 noon the next day thanks to a new service on trial from Parcelforce Worldwide.
The boost to International Datapost has been developed in direct response to customers' business requirements.
Currently being tested in the Oxford area, next-day delivery is guaranteed by 12 noon to all major US cities and 80 per cent of American business addresses.
Parcelforce Worldwide North American market sector manager John May said: "Business customers are increasingly demanding next-morning delivery to the US and this new service is designed to meet that need at a highly competitive price.
"Parcelforce continually seeks customers' views about its products and is always looking at ways to further improve the services available."
This new service is part of a joint venture with the United States Postal Service.
The enhancement of International Datapost follows hot on the heels of improvements to Parcelforce's European service, where there is a choice of delivery, to Paris for example by 8.30am.
A 'by 9' service is also being launched in the UK by Parcelforce Worldwide. Contract customers will be able to use the service - guaranteed delivery next-day by 9am - in August, with the service available to all in September.
John May said: "This wide range of express delivery services demonstrates our commitment to meeting proven customer needs and underlines our position as market leader."
