Seeing chemistry in action is believing for more than 300 students at the Ashbourne Community School in County Meath as they learn how science, technology and engineering relate to everyday life when the Chemistry Workshop Roadshow visits their school on Friday morning, 13 November 2015.
Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals , a leading specialty biopharmaceutical company, is a proud supporter of bringing the roadshow to children and teachers. The workshop is part of more than 800 Science Week Ireland events taking place across the country from 8-15 November 2015. The Chemistry Workshop Roadshow at Ashbourne Community School run by Mad Science includes live and hands-on demonstrations of varied visible chemical reactions.
Having first taken place in 1996, Science Week Ireland aims to make science more interesting and accessible to children and adults alike. These promising career options include those in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries and Mallinckrodt's support of Science Week Ireland aligns with its global support of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) initiatives, said Elizabeth Collins, Senior Director, Quality, for Global External Supply at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals Ireland. Mallinckrodt has more than 120 employees based at its offices and existing manufacturing site in Dublin, and the company has invested more than €165 million in Ireland over the past two decades.
