NEW DELHI, March 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
While Indian politicians from other parties were debating issues in rallies, the Twitter world was abuzz with the Indian National Congress' manifesto launch for the 2014 Lok Sabha Election. Twitter hashtag #MyCongressManifesto trended Worldwide, with more than 55000 tweets by tweeples from all over the country within a matter of hours.
Not just that, Congress leaders #Sonia Gandhi and #RahulGandhi too trended worldwide yesterday, displaying further positive sentiment towards the Congress leadership.
The manifesto was launched by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, and Congress VP Rahul Gandhi around noon. It took just a few minutes for the trend to catch on, which later spread across the globe, where people spoke highly and displayed hope. The hashtag was also retweeted by one Tareq Salahi (@SalahiTareq- US Congress Candidate).
The impact of the worldwide trends was also that curious onlookers clicked on the hashtag and were made aware of the details within the manifesto, which led to conversations between voters online. This is a big win for the party, as India goes to Lok Sabha poll in April 2014 with more than 15 million online users voting this election. Indian National Congress and its supporters have done a brilliant job in projecting their point of view to the world.
