Easter bank holiday arrangements

Share with Twitter Share with LinkedIn

This year the Easter bank holidays are on Good Friday, 29th March and Easter Monday, 1st April.

Royal Mail will be making collections from pillar boxes on Good Friday where stated and business customers can arrange collections on request. Deliveries will not be carried out on Good Friday (excluding Scotland) in order to standardise bank holiday arrangements.

A Sunday style collection service will be adopted from next year on Good Friday in line with existing public holidays. There will be a normal Saturday delivery and collection service throughout the UK. The Good Friday bank holiday does not apply to Scotland and normal delivery and collection times apply.

Post Office(tm) branches will be closed on Good Friday (excluding Scotland and Northern Ireland) and Easter Monday but remain open on Saturday, 30th March (excluding Northern Ireland). Most branches will open from 9am to 12.30pm on the Saturday unless they sell on-line National Lottery tickets, in which case they should remain open until at least 7.30pm. The majority of branches in Scotland will be closed on Easter Monday as there are local holidays. However, we advise customers to check with our Customer Service team for local branch information on 08457 223344. Branches in Scotland will operate normal opening hours on Good Friday. Northern Ireland branches will be closed between Saturday 30th March and Tuesday 2nd April in line with local business practice, re-opening Wednesday 3rd April.

All Parcelforce Worldwide Local Depots will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday therefore on these days Local Depots will not be performing deliveries or collections (both scheduled and ad hoc). Local Depots will be open as normal on Saturday 30th March to deliver items for which the customer has paid a Saturday delivery surcharge.
