'Charity Boxes' a Brand New Way to Help Vulnerable Children; Brought to You by Davpack and The Children's Society
DERBY, England, September 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Davpack and leading charity The Children's Society are today launching a new opportunity for companies, and the public, to raise money to help disadvantaged children in the UK (Monday, 22 September).
Charity boxes are a new concept from Davpack and The Children's Society, which are being launched as companies begin to plan their Christmas charity donation schemes. The boxes work in the same way as charity Christmas cards; simply buy the special range of packaging on Davpack's website and a donation will be made to the charity.
The range includes some of Davpack's biggest selling packaging products, including some single and double wall boxes, postal boxes and grey polythene mailing bags. For example, buying one pack of 25 single wall boxes will raise 75p for charity, while every pack of 1000 mailing bags sold will automatically raise £5 towards its work. Donations are made per item.
Thanks to support from Davpack and their suppliers, there is no price difference between the charity packaging and the standard option.
As well as raising important funds, Davpack also aims to help raise awareness of The Children's Society work to tackle child poverty and neglect. Working in partnership with the charity, Davpack has involved hundreds of primary schools in their jointly-produced online resource, 'Barry The Box'. This useful resource helps young children understand how to cope with their problems better and realise they don't have to face them alone.
Announcing the charity packaging range, Davpack's Managing Director Barney Byfield said: "We believe this is a UK first. It opens up the possibility for businesses to help a top children's charity every time they use packaging and send out a parcel. People are used to the concept of charity greetings cards, and we are confident that people will appreciate their parcels arriving in a charity box, instead of a plain one. We're thrilled to be helping The Children's Society in their fight to protect vulnerable children."
Maggie Allen, Partnership Development Manager at The Children's Society, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity and an important way for companies - and the public - to get involved in helping tackle child poverty and neglect in this country. By working with Davpack, it is possible for us to develop this new and novel way for people to show their support and make a real difference to children's lives."
