Carbon Credentials works with a number of market leading real estate organisations in the UK, including The Crown Estate, Hermes Investment Management (Hermes), and Aviva Investors, helping them to drive value out of sustainability data.
In the recently released 2015 GRESB benchmark, with Carbon Credentials' support, The Crown Estate achieved the highest GRESB 'Green Star' rating for three of its portfolios, Hermes achieved Green Stars for five of its funds, and Aviva Investors achieved Green Stars for 10 of its funds.
Carbon Credentials' work with Hermes is covered in detail in this case study published on the GRESB Innovation Portal.
By joining GRESB as an Associate Partner, Carbon Credentials further demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by assisting its real estate clients in providing high quality disclosure of sustainability performance through the annual GRESB survey.
Alex Hill, Aviva Investors, states: "With on-going consultancy support from Carbon Credentials, we implemented a more robust Environmental Management System for our European Direct Real Estate funds. This is reflected in the higher GRESB scores we achieved this year."
In this new partnership, Carbon Credentials hopes to shift the focus from reporting and disclosure to encourage more strategic thinking around how GRESB responders approach the requirements of the questionnaire and the results of the benchmark.
Richard Green, Carbon Credentials' CEO, commented: "We believe that reporting sustainability information through programmes such as GRESB provides companies with a framework for continual improvement of sustainability performance.
GRESB has the potential of being a truly useful benchmark to support strategy and best practice in Commercial Real Estate, but it is organisations' ability to integrate and make this an effective part of their Responsible Property or sustainability programme which will enable this success."
Carbon Credentials is hosting a free GRESB Breakfast Briefing on 8th October to explore how organisations can transfer GRESB outcomes into concrete actions that can lead to tangible performance improvements, which will not only improve their GRESB score, but also have a material impact on the bottom line.
