Apollo Tyres and Manchester United Launch the Control Challenge
LONDON, October 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Together Apollo and Manchester United continue to 'Go the Distance' with the release of the second skill challenge, which provides fans with the opportunity to win a trip of a lifetime to Old Trafford for one of the most viewed contests of the football season
Carrying forward their shared commitment towards development of the youth, Apollo Tyres and Manchester United today released the second skill challenge, termed as the 'Apollo Control Challenge'. The Apollo Challenges were created to help grassroots players around the world to access, test and refine three key skill-sets that have been the cornerstones of Manchester United's success on the pitch.
September saw Manchester United and Spain international Juan Mata launch the 'Apollo Agility Challenge' - the first of the three challenges. After an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, Apollo selected the submission from Niki Kohmareh of Stockholm, Sweden as the best execution of the Agility skill. Together with a guest, Sanja Miljanic, he will be travelling to Manchester on 13 December 2014 to watch the Red Devils take on Liverpool from a VIP Old Trafford box in what is always one of the games of the season.
The launch of the Apollo Control Challenge provides fans with another chance to demonstrate their skills and be in with a chance of winning tickets for the Manchester United vs. Liverpool match at Old Trafford.
The latest Apollo Challenge sees Manchester United and Belgium international midfielder Marouane Fellaini demonstrate how to master perfect ball control, a skill which is invaluable when playing in one of the most competitive and fast-paced areas of the pitch.

Marouane Fellaini commented: "Close control is an essential part of any players' game and is one that is taught to Manchester United's youth teams from a very early age. As I play in midfield, I know from experience how seamless close control creates the foundations upon which great performances are built."
To enter the competition, a participant needs to submit a film showcasing him/her mastering the skill demonstrated by Marouane Fellaini. Like Niki Kohmareh, one lucky winner and a friend will be selected to receive an all expenses paid trip to Old Trafford to watch one of the games of the Premiership season from a VIP Old Trafford box, as Manchester United take on Liverpool on 13 December 2014. The winners will receive travel, 5 star hotel accommodation, a signed Manchester United shirt, post-game hospitality and a surprise goody bag.
The final Apollo Challenge featuring Ashley Young will be launched in November, providing fans with their final opportunity to win tickets to see one of football's longest standing rivalries.
